Valet

A Decal plugin for Archers
by Ascus

Bake_Neko modified a version of valet that corrects some problems added auto fletching options. His version is available for download at http://devilcat.home.mchsi.com/Valet_v1001.zip. If you have any issues with that version, please contact him directly. From this point foward his version is considered official. I have just left my last version up for a c++ source example.

With the advent of Rending Imbues, archers now often find themselves swaping not only ammo but bows as well. "Valet" is here to help. When ammo is loaded, the correct bow is equiped. Conversely, when a bow is equiped, the correct ammo is loaded. Now when you see that monster charging you, with one click of a mouse you can load the correct ammo loaded, bow equipped and get ready to fire

To target the bow for spells and such click on the name of the bow.

The display is modified by holding shift key down while clicking on the interface and is described below under "Setting up Valet for your character"

Setting up Valet for your character

Changing the configuration require holding the shift key while clicking on the interface in various places. Once set up for each character, you will not need to use the shift key until you need to make a configuration change. To ensure that the you configuration is saved, close the interface and re-open it,

To Change the Mode of Valet
Hold shift down and click the Aegis Shield on the first Row. this will toggle through, manual, autoload, and autoarm modes. This may the most common thing you do. When you are just testing out bow, you don't want to be equiping arrows and going into combat stance continuously.

Definition of Modes
  • Manual Mode only equips from the interface, not auto-loads or auto-equips will occur
  • Autoload Mode will activate auto loading of ammo and auto equiping of bows when the other is equip by a method outside of Valet. equiping bows or loading ammo from the interface will never cause an auto equip or load.
  • Autoarm Mode will act like Autoload plus it will put you into combat mode every time a bow is equiped or ammo is loaded.

To Set a Trigger for a combination
Load the bow and ammo that you wish to use together. While holding Shift click on the status (first) row of the list. Where you click determines the type of trigger you create. This will become the new highest priority equip. and any identical combinations will be removed from list.

  • The Ammo Icon sets the combination to be triggered only be Ammo Loading,
  • The Bow Icon sets the combination to be triggered only when a bow is equiped.
  • The Bow Name sets the combination to be triggered be either a bow or ammo.

To Remove a saved bow/ammo combination
Hold shift down and click on the Aegis Shield on that row. This will delete the row.

To Disable a ammo load trigger
Hold shift down and click on the ammo icon on the bow/ammo combination.

To Disable a bow equip trigger
Hold shift down and click on the bow icon on the bow/ammo combination.
